Overview

This is a relatively new hybrid between Calycanthus and Sinocalycanthus that is rarely offered. The most gorgeous deep blood red star shaped flowers, up to 3ins (8cm) across and with numerous petals, are borne intermittently over a long period from early Summer.

It makes a dense bushy medium sized shrub with glossy green aromatic foliage, yellow in autumn. Give it a fertile soil, enriched with humus, in a reasonably sheltered position that is protected from hot sun and cold winds.
