Formerly known as Stachys officinalis, this attractive native of grasslands provides terrific wildlife value. Suitable for wildflower meadows, borders and containers. Nectar-rich purple flowers on terminal spikes from mid-summer into early autumn.

Attractive native of grasslands with terrific wildlife value. Suitable for wildflower meadows, borders and containers. Nectar producing purple flowers on terminal spikes from mid-summer into early autumn.

All wildflowers are grown from seed on site. Seed is collected from the Wildlife Meadow here at Ashwood Nurseries when possible or from British suppliers.

Wildflowers are best planted in the spring or autumn when possible but can be planted in the summer if water can be provided.
