A useful plant for year round interest. In spring, it produces attractive clusters of small white blooms held against dark green waxy foliage. These are followed in summer by black fruits, which last well into winter and are good for attracting wildlife to the garden. In the autumn the foliage turns beautiful shades of red and scarlet . Although it’s a slow-growing plant, it suckers to form an airy spreading shrub which makes it useful for an informal hedge. It will grow happily in a range of soils in full sun or partial shade.
