A small wide topped evergreen tree or shrub, that has fibrous bark the colour of cinnamon. Glossy dark green leaves. Pinky red flowers hang in clusters alongside the reddish strawberry like fruits in October.

Arbutus unedo f. rubra is a delightful medium sized evergreen shrub, with dark cinnamon bark and dark glossy green leaves. Pink-white flowers hang in clusters during October followed by orange-red strawberry like fruits at the same time as the next crop of blossom. Tolerates most well drained soils in full sun or partial shade.
