Overview
This herbaceous perennial produces flattened flower heads in pretty pastel shades of orange, coral, salmon or red from mid-June through to August. As they are grown from seed, we can’t predict what colour they will be, but that’s all part of the fun of growing them! Lovely addition to the cottage garden.
A valuable addition to any border with its long lasting flat heads of flowers that attract many beneficial insects including hoverflies and butterflies. Flowers fade very slowly keeping some of their colour until the flower head eventually dies, making them a perfect choice for florists as cut flowers for the vase arrangements. They can also be dried. Removing fading flower heads regularly, combined with a high potash feed, will encourage new flower stems.
Achilleas are happiest in a free-draining soil in full sun.
