Our Tea Room scoops another award

The Tea Room at Ashwood, still basking in the glow of its first Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, has scooped yet another award. The Finest Tea Rooms Award has been bestowed upon us by This England magazine in recognition of our ‘warm welcome, excellent service’ and for ‘upholding the typically English tradition of afternoon tea’.

We were lucky to be nominated by one of our customers Rita Head of Lower Gornal, West Midlands and we are thrilled to be acknowledged by This England as ‘the perfect place to pause for a refreshing cuppa, or to tuck into something more substantial as you seek inspiration for your garden, or simply take time to smell the roses’.

This England is a quarterly magazine, described as being ‘for all who love our green and pleasant land and are unashamedly proud of their English roots’. The magazine has now become one of Britain’s best loved magazines ‘celebrating all that is best about England and the English way of life’. As well as being popular in Britain, it outsells all other British heritage magazines in every country of the world, so we are pleased to think that the fine reputation of  The Tea Room at Ashwood  is being spread to all corners of the world!

Once again, congratulations must go to manager Ruth Cartwright and her team for another fine achievement.  As always, her team strives for perfection, often under difficult circumstances during very busy periods, consistently producing beautiful home-cooked meals and a mouth-watering range of home-baked cakes and pastries.
