Moorcroft Pottery launches Ashwood Collection

Moorcroft Pottery has launched an exciting new collection dedicated to some of the plants that Ashwood Nurseries is renowned for.  Moorcroft designers Emma Bossons, Nicola Slaney and Kerry Goodwin have focused their attention on the beautiful blooms of hellebores, hepaticas, cyclamen, auriculas, salvias and Anemone pavonina resulting in an exquisite collection of Moorcroft pieces in either limited or numbered editions. Nursery owner John Massey is thrilled that his favourite plants have inspired this collection…’this is a great honour for Ashwood and I feel sure that these designs will appeal to Moocroft collectors as well as plant lovers everywhere.’

Ashwood Nurseries’ award-winning hellebores are prized by gardeners from all over the world. As well as our Ashwood Garden Hybrids, we grow a range of hellebore species, inter-species hybrids and other cultivars.  Bringing joy in the Winter garden, they all share a subtle natural beauty and charm which is quite irresistible.

Designer Nicola Slaney has chosen Helleborus niger as the subject for her design, which takes its name from its black roots, while the flower itself is white… a juxta positioning of colours in perfect harmony, which Nicola has used to stunning effect.

Heavenly Hepatica

Hepaticas are John Massey’s passion. He has his own private collection and is recognised as a leading expert on this enchanting genus, travelling to China, Japan, Korea, Kyrgystan, North America and Europe to see them in the wild.

Hepaticas are surely one of the most lovely flowers of early Spring, on bright sunny days their flowers opening wide to display their simple beauty and unobtrusive charm.

Nicola Slaney’s own love of hepaticas shines through in this enchanting design on the classic 7/7 shape.
