Ashwood Charity of the Year update

We are delighted to announce that the running total so far raised for our Charity of the Year 2014 (Stroke Support West Midlands) is £13,937.46. Most of the charity fundraising comes from John’s Garden Open Days and a very good turnout on September 27th certainly boosted the total.

It was a great privilege and pleasure to meet so many of Stroke Support members and their carers. The group is entirely self-funding and they are thrilled that Ashwood’s donation will give them financial security, ensuring that their support group can continue its good work for several years to come.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us on the Garden Open Days, especially Maggie who gives her time freely to ‘man the gate’ to the garden and all the volunteers from the charity itself who have been so generous with their time and who have worked so hard selling raffle tickets. The First Prize winner of the Charity Raffle (£100 HTA Voucher) was Mr. C. Hewitt of Herefordshire.

Our fund-raising for this charity continues until the end of the year so look out for further updates. We are hoping to take the total still further with the proceeds from our Charity Christmas cards, available in the Gift Shop and Garden Shop. This lovely card range features beautiful winter scenes in John’s Garden. Please take a look and remember that 10 per cent of the price of every pack of cards will be donated to our 2014 charity.
