On Wednesday 29th July, nursery owner John Massey will open his garden for an extra special day in aid of another fantastic local charity, The Albrighton Trust.

The Albrighton Trust, Moat and Gardens provides a range of educational and recreational activities tailored specifically for individuals with physical and learning disabilities, ill-health, or any other challenges. Their ethos is one of inclusivity and support, ensuring that everyone, irrespective of their capabilities, is welcomed with open arms.

About John's Garden

A garden for every day of the year

John’s Garden’ is a wonderful eight acre private garden created by nursery owner John Massey VMH. Informal borders, island beds, woodland dells and a wildlife garden are set against the beautiful backdrop of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. Regarded as one of the finest private small gardens in the UK, it is a ‘plantsman’s garden’ that has an abundance of rare plants as well as many familiar favourites.

Essential Information

  • WEDNESDAY 29th JULY
  • 11am-3pm (last entrance)
  • Tickets are available to buy on the day at the garden entrance (cash payment preferred)
  • Pre-booking is available online but not essential.
  • Garden Admission: £8 per person (All proceeds will be donated to The Albrighton Trust)
  • Children under 12 are allowed free of charge.

Additional Information

  • The owner John Massey and one of his team of gardeners, will be in the garden to answer any questions you may have.
  • A delicious selection of freshly prepared food and drinks are available to purchase from the tea room  more
  • We are sorry but picnics are not allowed in the garden.
  • We regret that dogs are not allowed in John’s Garden.
  • Toilet facilities are available adjacent to the gift shop.
  • Sensible shoes are essential in damp conditions.
