‘Garden Odyssey’ Lecture with Adrian Bloom

We are delighted to welcome Adrian Bloom VMH to Ashwood Nurseries to give a lecture on his excellent new book “Garden Odyssey”, A Search For The Wow Factor.

Adrian’s unique blend of knowledge and experience will inspire both gardeners and non-gardeners alike by showing them what might be possible and suggesting the right plants to help them achieve distinctive and wow creations in their own gardens. Adrian strongly believes that plants and gardens are for everyone to understand and enjoy.

The event will be on Tuesday 29th September. Before the lecture, guests will enjoy exclusive access to explore John’s Garden at their leisure. The lecture will take place in the Tea Room at 6:15pm and run for approximately 75 minutes.

About Adrian Bloom:

Adrian Bloom is a lifelong gardeners and creator of the Summer Garden, Winter and Foggy Bottom Garden at The Bressingham Gardens in Norfolk. He writes, photographs and lectures about plants and gardening internationally. He has appeared as a television presenter for BBC Gardeners’ World. In 1986 he was awarded the Victoria Medal of Honour by the RHS and 2015 the annual Lifetime Achievement Award by the Garden Media Guild.

About John’s Garden:

John’s Garden at Ashwood reflects his lifelong passion for plants and the influence of friends Christopher Lloyd and Princess Sturdza. Serving both as a personal sanctuary and a testing ground for his plant passions, the garden embodies John’s belief that a garden should be enjoyed every day of the year. Set beside the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, it is a true garden for all seasons and has earned widespread acclaim in the media, including high praise from Carol Klein.

  • Complimentary drink and cake will be served at the ‘Oss Box’ between 4pm – 6pm.
  • John’s Garden will be open from 4pm to allow guests to visit John’s Garden at their leisure before the lecture.
  • Lecture in the tea room starts at 6:15pm prompt. Duration 75 minutes approx.

  • A member of the Ashwood team will meet you (your details will be on our guest list)
  • Please note the tea room will close at 4:15pm. The nursery, gift shop and garden shop will close at 5pm.
  • Signed copies of Adrian’s new book will be available to purchase during the event and from our garden shop once published.
  • We advise wearing appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear for your garden visit before the lecture.
