Taxus baccata, our traditional and native yew, is easy and tolerant and will adapt to most conditions including shade. It clips to a very fine hedge if undertaken twice in spring/summer, but not after August, and makes an excellent subject for topiary. Slower growing then other varieties. Height unclipped 2.5m x Spread 1.2m (6-8ft x 4ft) approx. in 10 years. All parts are toxic. Very tolerant of wind, drought, full sun or deep shade.

To form a hedge plant 90cm (3ft) apart and trim during summer when required.
