Plant 1.5m (5ft) apart in rows 2m (6ft) apart. Plant in an open sunny or lightly shaded spot. Prefers a moist but well-drained fertile soil. Ensure the rootball is moist before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.
Fruit is produced on the previous year's shoots. Tie in new shoots - these will flower and fruit in the second year. Cut away all fruiting canes after harvest and replace them with new vigorous shoots and the most vigorous of the older ones. Cut back weak and damaged shoots in Autumn. In Spring, apply a general fertiliser.
