Anyone with a garden has an opportunity to provide for our wildlife. Planting native wildflowers without using pesticides will not only produce a beautiful display, it will also provide for animals at every stage of their lifecycles. Even the smallest of spaces could provide a home for a colony of butterflies and nectar for bees.
There are native wildflowers for most situations in the garden and with careful selection of species there can be flowers for much of the year.
“Private gardens in Britain cover an area bigger than all of the country’s nature reserves combined, estimated at over 10 million acres. Making your garden wildlife friendly will help to ensure that the plants and animals that we value today will still be there for future generations to enjoy” – The Wildlife Trust
