Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Ballerina' is a small upright tree with large white fowers borne in profusion in spring.  Small red berries are produced in the summer which are popular with birds.  Foliage turns rich hues of oranges and reds in autumn.  An excellent subject for the smaller garden.

To get the best autumn colours plant in full sun but they will grow equally well in partial shade in moist but well-drained lime free soil.

No regular pruning is necessary but any old damaged or crossing branches or pruning for shape should be carried out in late summer or early autumn.
