A large bush producing large flattish lacecap flowers that can easily change colour to suit the natural soil type, usually mauvish-pink but makes an excellent blue on very acid soil.

Also known as 'Mariesii Perfecta'.

Position: They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. For the best blue blooms plant in acid soil and encorporate hydrangea colourant.

Maintenance: Little pruning required just simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
