Pale pink or clear sky blue flowers depending on acidity. Unusual lilac-shaped incurved flowers in flattish heads which are also very slightly fragrant. A large plant with a long flowering period retaining is leaves until late autumn.
Position: They perform best when given a shady, cool moist root run and a sheltered aspect. For the best blue blooms plant in acid soil and encorporate hydrangea colourant.
Maintenance: Little pruning required just simply thin out old stems and remove the dead flowers to a pair of plump green buds in late spring.
