Dramatic as a single specimen but plant in groups of three or more for maximum impact or where ground cover is required. It will grow in full sun or partial shade and prefers a cool root run.

Planting Instruction

Prepare the ground well by turning the soil, removing large stones etc, and improve heavy clay soils with the addition of organic matter and grit. Avoid using fertilisers: a dressing of bonemeal is all that is necessary. Make sure that the planting area is moist and, if the grass is dry at the root, stand it in a bucket of water for 30 minutes. Plant at the same height as the plant was growing in the pot.

Watering is the key to success, especially in the first year after planting. Check your plant daily during hot, dry or windy weather and ensure that the plant receives a thorough soaking at least 2 or 3 times a week.

If you are planting your grass in a pot, ensure it has a drainage hole, use a good quality compost with added grit and be diligent about watering.
