Pinus uncinata, the European or dwarf mountain pine, is a slow growing neat conifer with long dark green needles. Growth habit is variable; it can be semi-prostrate or more upright but generally remains small and bushy. It tends to set cones when still quite young. Height 1.2m x Spread 1.2m (4ft x 4ft) approx. in 10 years. Ideally suited to exposed planting sites, dislikes shade and prefers free draining soil.
