Pyracanthas are easy to grow in any fertile soil in sun or partial shade and very tolerant of pollution.

A framework of wires or trellis is advisable to support the plant while young.

Prune annually in early to mid-summer (after flowering) to maintain a neat compact habit. Tie in any shoots to extend the framework of wall shrubs, and shorten branches to about 2 or 3 leaves from the base after flowering to expose the berries.
