An attractive vigorous self- twining climber, with glossy dark green pointed leaves. Its distinctive honeysuckle tubular-shaped flowers are a burnished yellow stained with red, borne in clusters in June and July. Black berries usually follow in Autumn.

Ideal for training up walls, fences or small trees where it can be sheltered from east winds. Best grown in a moist, fertile well-drained soil, in partial shade. It will tolerate full sun if there is plenty of moisture at the root.
