A lovely species, considered by some to be the best of the genus. They have beautiful large satin-apricot flowers in April/May above fleshy evergreen leaves. Prefers a rich well drained soil planted where the crown can be kept dry.

Position: Best grown in the alpine house with some winter protection. 

Maintenance: Remove old flowers when stalks have dried.
