Hepatica japonica var. nipponica f. candida A new forma recently described by Yoshi Ohno from an isolated population in the mountains of Kanagawa Prefecture at about 470 metres. Very similar to H. japonica f. variegata but it appears to be a little easier to grow in cultivation. Small white flowers with rounded sepals, the stamens are usually white but occasionally pale pink the foliage is deep green and the lobes are usually rounded.
