A medium to large aromatic evergreen shrub of neat habit and all year round interest. Attractive copper-tinted young growth, glossy dark green lance shaped leaves set upon contrasting red stems. Many small scented creamy-white flowers in April and May. Best given the protection of a warm South facing wall and a free draining soil. Prune only during the summer to shape. Leaves and fruits can be dried and used infuse flavour into cooking as an alternative to conventional pepper.
