Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Gracilis is one of the best varieties for general planting. Its foliage is attractively arranged in shell like whorls and is a good dark green all year with lighter new growth in spring. It forms an irregular, pyramid shaped bush and is an excellent contrast with other dwarf conifers. Height 0.3m-1.5m x Spread 90cm (2-3 ft x 3 ft) in 10 years. Prefers a sheltered site, open to the rain but with a free draining soil.
