Espalier

The art of training a plant, usually a fruit tree, flat against a wall or other framework, where the branches are trained horizontally out from the main stem at regular intervals.

Evergreen

A plant that holds its leaves and stays green throughout the year. Old leaves tend to be lost gradually over time and replaced, so the plant is never bare.
