John’s Garden Open Day

STOP PRESS: MEET ROY LANCASTER DURING THE AFTERNOON! Come and enjoy the magical atmosphere of John’s Garden in early spring, with its superb collections of spring flowering subjects including fine displays of tulips, narcissi, erythroniums, trilliums and snakeshead fritillaries.The hepaticas should be in flower, the lewisia wall will be a riot of colour and the rock garden will be full of interest with many choice and rare treasures to be enjoyed. John’s amelanchier collection and the Crab Apple walk will be putting on a spectacular show while the Anemone pavonina meadow is truly a sight not to be missed.

‘John’s Garden’ at Ashwood Nurseries is a wonderful three acre private garden created by nursery owner John Massey VMH. Informal borders, island beds, woodland dells, a fern stumpery and wildlife meadow* are set against the beautiful backdrop of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. It is a ‘plantsman’s garden’ that has an abundance of rare plants as well as many familiar favourites.

Essential Information:

SATURDAY APRIL 22nd 2017 10am- 4pm (last entrance)

ENTRANCE CHARGE £5.00 (cash payment only please). Entire entrance proceeds are donated to our Charity of the Year.

*Please note that the Wildlife Meadow is open today: don’t miss it!

Roy Lancaster the great plantsman and plant explorer will be in the garden from 2pm
