Five Star rating for our Tea Room

We are very proud that once again our Tea Room has been awarded a top rating of Five Stars from the ratemyplace food safety inspectorate, with special praise given for its ‘high standards which are well above average’.

Congratulations must go to manager Ruth Cartwright and her team who work so tirelessly (both behind the scenes in the kitchens and in the Tea Room itself) to provide customers with the best possible food and service.

Our Tea Room is warm and welcoming with an open fire on chilly days, beautiful garden views and a delightful sunny terrace. Here you can experience the flavour of freshly prepared food created by our skilled team of chefs, using top quality produce, locally sourced wherever possible.  We serve a delicious chef’s ‘daily special’ hot lunch and our cakes, gateaux and scones are to die for! The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and informal: we don’t take bookings, so you can come and go as you please.

Ratemyplace is a partnership between Staffordshire local authorities to publish details of food safety inspections reports and hygiene rating scores across the county. It has aligned itself with the national food hygiene rating scheme, which is calculated by taking into account how hygienic the premises are, whether they take into account of recognised food hygiene practices and how much confidence the inspector has in the management to keep their premises up to standard.
