Our award-winning hellebores are regarded as being some of the finest ever produced, attracting gardeners and growers from all over the world. We grow a superb range of hellebore species, inter-species hybrids and cultivars but it is our Helleborus x hybridus ‘Ashwood Garden Hybrids’  that have won international acclaim, widely acknowledged as ‘simply the best’ strain of Helleborus x hybridus available today.

You can be sure of the purest of colours, many with beautiful markings or dramatic dark nectaries, perfect flower form and shape, clean colours on the backs of the blooms and strong, healthy plants with short sturdy flower stems. All are renowned for retaining their intensity of flower colour over a long period.

Do try and visit us during ‘Winter in Bloom’ (January, February and early March) when you will find an amazing selection of hellebore plants for sale in our beautiful sales areas. There are special exhibits and displays with ideas on how to create a beautiful winter garden, plus a programme of hellebore tours, lectures, a garden open day and other special events.

Visitors to the Nursery:
Plants: best time is January to March (subject to availability) with some limited availability all year. If you are looking for specific colours, forms, or varieties please contact us before your visit.

Mail Order:
Plants: best time is from January to March (subject to availability) with some limited availability all year.
Plug plants of H. 'Ashwood Garden Hybrids' are despatched in June.
Seed of H. 'Ashwood Garden Hybrids' is despatched from July.
